PROJECT OVERVIEW
Prudential had previously launched a generic company-wide HR portal for employees. The next phase was to develop a manager-specific extension that would be an interactive, branded dashboard tailored to those in leadership roles. This new access point was to centralize manager-relevant talent processes, such as staff transitions, compliance, and performance assessments, while remaining intuitive and efficient with minimal content overhead.
The enhanced solution aimed to elevate the manager experience by integrating multimedia, analytics, and mobile accessibility into a cohesive interface aligned with Prudential’s broader HR strategy.
CHALLENGE
Balancing innovation with consistency was a central challenge. While Prudential wanted a modern experience that empowered managers, the design also had to integrate into the broader HR ecosystem without fracturing the existing structure. Agile collaboration and ongoing communication with stakeholders were crucial in managing evolving expectations, avoiding surprises, and ensuring alignment with HR’s business goals.
APPROACH
The solution was framed as a business initiative before a technology project. By prioritizing strategic HR objectives, the experience was designed to enable leaders, drive organizational alignment, and encourage innovation through more proactive team management.

The final product established a refined manager experience within Prudential’s HR ecosystem through the intuitive design of a centralized leadership dashboard supporting Manager responsibilities historically found spread across the old HR portal. Now the manager had quick access to talent management activities where they could review and perform time-sensitive duties such as performance reviews, compliance management, and team training and development. The new design established a scalable experience framework that modernized the manager experience while maintaining alignment with Prudential’s broader HR ecosystem.
